So I went out mountain biking today and realized that I'm really quite gutless on the trail nowadays. I won't hit stuff I used to. Don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I wanta do my log rides and jump courses again dang it! But I do wanta get out of this summer without any serious injuries to me or my bike.

So I've now come up with a couple goals to expand my bravery.
A)To actually hit a deer while riding the trails on my mountain bike. Not hard enough to actually hurt it or me, but a little daised is ok. Plus if I kill it you cannot nessesarily put around a 100 pounds of road kill on your back and bike it home.

B)to get a speeding ticket on a road bike. At least in a 35 zone perferably in a 45 zone while passing cars. Quincy hill might remedy that one.

thoughts of the night.
goodnight all!

Thought I'd actally start LJing again. Its been over a semester since I have updated, but thoguht it would be good for me to write more of my stuff down and see what other folks think of me life.

Life has been good, pretty easy goin summer though. I don't know if I like that so much. Have been thinking a lot of ASP because there I was working 24/7 with a day off every other week. So needless to say, I've been doing a heck of a lot more moutain biking and other recreational stuff as well as seeing Sarah more.

Speaking of, we had a really awesome weekend togather, along with my fam at the cabin in Naubinway. I think relations between both those parties are getting better too. We got to do a lot of talking and relaxing togather, and I got to fish, what more can you ask for.

So my main thought of the day is that I think wanta definatly plan for my Isle Royale trip for July 13 through the 17. I wanta get some personal R&R in and time to myself to think a bit. Not so much that I object to others comming with me, but I'm not sure too many people would be able to or wanta spend that time off. Got me thinking today to. Was at blue house and felt a little out cause a bunch of guys from there where planing a big backpacking trip too and it seems like they have deep friendship roots in blue house. I knew all of em but I guess I put feet half into water with Grace and IV leaving space for half friendships. I don't intend it to happen, but I guess I let it. I kinda feel a bit bad for that and for being pretty grumpy lately I guess.

Anyways, just some thoughts of the night and update on how life is goin I guess.

yeah, for the most part i was in a very good mood for my b-day. My cell phone battery almost died today with folks wishin me a happy birthday. Today at lunch i went to daily prayer meeting with the IV bunch. It was swell, i got treated to lunch in wads and got sang to but after that it was just back to class and schoolwork. then to be flooded with birthday wishes on facebook, which were awesome. when i got home i laid down for a nap and woke up 4 hours latter at 11:11 by Sarah. So pretty uneventful wish i would have stayed awake and done something. maybe atleast treat myself to dinner somewhere, but no one was around anyways and me just by myself at a restaurant is no fun.

in other news, i went and saw sarah in marquette. we went to munising
and to Pictured rocks around there hiking. It was a lot of fun, time
with her and hiking. further inspired me to see if i can find a job on
isle royale this summer. On the filp side of the weekend, my brother
was in a accident with my old car. he's ok, but he fell asleep at the
wheel after an all nighter and hit some mailboxes inbeded in the ground
with metal posts that messed up the front of the car good. but like i
said, he's alright so that's all that matters.

so i was figuring out my schedule for next semester. tenitivly, i'm set up to have 18 credits, be an undergrad lab TA for botany, and hopefully hold on to my current job.

Don't know how this is gonna work. Parents are happy cause they think i'm finaly taking a respectable credit load. Their comments often go to "back in the day, i took 22 credits, with a kid, and your mom had a full time job" What they don't realize is that the classes 20 years ago were based on quarters rather than semesters like now. So the credit system was a different scale. I don't think 20 is even allowed now.

I'm kinda scared, I had a real rough transition from my summer job to school and dealing with a lot of inadequate feelings, which took a toll on me. Then again, it did get better and smooth out once I got a hold of things. I'm most afraid of complaining. I've complained so much bout this last semester with 17 credits. I got promted by my parents to suck it up so i graduate on time, and from others that i'm only a sophomore and i don't know what real homework really is.

I don't know, I haven't actualy signed up for classes yet. But in better news, i'm hopefully gonna see the rally race up in copper harbor this weekend which will be awesome! Marquette tomorrow night for the tech vs northern hockey game, but sarah is gone down state. I miss her a ton lately.

So we got spared gettin lost in the woods with the bikes and had a guided tour. The trails where blast, besides the water we went through several times that was about 4-6in deep. Got my feet wet in my riding shoes and got cold quick but it was all good. went through some sweet new single track through old growth timber (the only place in michigan where there is old growth that alows mountain biking). howie and i both were dead when we got back, but no injuries.

Sam was the guy that took us out. he works at keweenaw adventure company in copper harbor in the summer with biking, kayaking, backpacking, building bike trais, etc. then will go to Colorado in the winter for skiing.

man, maybe i don't need school anyways.

hey all, I'm working for a organization called Appalachian Service Project which is a Christian, non-profit, home repair ministry for low income homes in Appalachia. I'll be a staffer along with three others managing a volunteer center with 50-70 new volunteers each week for the summer.

If you could, I'm asking for prayer that I would serve God wholeheartedly and humbly. I wanta do my job well not for me, but to God for whom I want to do it for.

Anyways, have a great day to everybody

ok, back and updating after a long streak of LJ lazyness. Either lazyness or lacking of anything good to say.

but anyways, things have been going good. Getting ready to wrap up only two exams this week! Cause I already wraped up botany with a 95% on my final lab practical so my prof said I already had an A in the class and don't need to take the written final. SCORE! Botany was a fun class, last lab all the sections went to our teacher's [Janice] house across the street from campus. She has a flipin rain forest in her house! Her sun room twice the size of my room up here had a rock wall complete with waterfall, bamboo and all other tropical plants you can think of, pond with fish, birds flying around, lizards, and other assorted things. It was the coolest thing ever. I want one. Can anyone donate any poison dart frogs, lepords, snakes, or people eating carnivorous plants for my cause? Well maybe not the lepord cause its a cat.

Other than that looking forward to the end of school and then headin to the cabin for a couple days. Then Cedar Campus for IVCF leadership retreat and Sarah is gonna be there! I miss her like whoa. So if anyone reads this please tell Sarah Holt irishdancerchik that I miss her like whoa and can't wait to see her. Anyways off to mischief, and maybe watch Phantom of the Opera. Hear it's worth seein. Good night all!

wow, man sorry i haven't updated in like ever.

well, last monday i finaly made a decision on the summer job situation. I feel in my heart that ASP is where God wants me and I gave em a call monday and took the job. I'm way excited, and my dad even called up this weekend and said after a lot of thinking, he wants me to take the job. which meant a lot. I also found a guy to carpool with to get down to training so I don't have to buy a car either. The situation has been hard on Sarah, I am already gone for the school year and now the summer. So I'm just gonna trust God that he'll direct everything in His plan.

I've also been on a super big Mae hitch lately. everyone should check out www.theeverglow.com and listen to some of their stuff. It's the site for their new cd I want really bad (3 days till release!)

anyways. Happy Easter weekend to all!!
